The year was 1937...

C. J. Baltus was scratching out a meager living in the Northwoods of Wisconsin as an independant insurance agent. The propane industry was in its infancy with only a handfull of oil companies marketing the then exotic, "bottled gas". To become a "Skelgas"dealer, all Charlie had to do was buy ten 100 pound cylinders of "Skelgas". Charlie took the plunge and had ten "bottled gas" cylinders shipped to him by rail from Kansas City, Missouri.

Today, over 60 years later, his vision and foresight continue as Gasco Propane and Green Bay Gas Service.
